Angélica Zapata Merlot 2020 is an elegant and complex red wine crafted from meticulously selected Merlot grapes sourced from three of Catena Zapata's most iconic vineyards: La Pirámide, Nicasia, and Adrianna. Grown between 950 and 1450 meters above sea level, these high-altitude sites contribute to the wine’s depth, aromatic complexity, and refined texture.
Deep violet in color with ruby highlights, the nose reveals delicate aromas of wild red berries, layered with subtle black pepper and clove notes from La Pirámide, while ripe black and red fruits such as cassis and currants come through from Nicasia and Adrianna. Gentle oak aging adds a soft hint of vanilla and spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and well-balanced, with a sweet entry, silky tannins, and a long, pleasant finish. A graceful Merlot that speaks of its mountain origin.
