Tasting Notes
Score: 99 pts James Suckling
"Aromas of black licorice, iodine, and blackberries with hints of nutmeg. Medium- to full-bodied with great structure, yet refined and graceful. Extremely long and attractive, full of energy and polish. The glacial soils and west-facing exposure of the vineyard make this wine truly special." – James Suckling
The Wine
Gran Enemigo El Cepillo Cabernet Franc is a single-vineyard expression from a high-altitude site located at 1,300 meters above sea level in the southernmost end of the Uco Valley. Crafted by acclaimed winemaker Alejandro Vigil, this blend of 85% Cabernet Franc and 15% Malbec is aged for 15 months in century-old foudres, showcasing the region's unique terroir with clarity and finesse.

About the Winery
In 2009, in the peaceful village of Cruz de Piedra in Maipú—affectionately known by locals as "The Republic of Chachingo"—Adrianna Catena (a historian from Oxford and daughter of Nicolás Catena of Catena Zapata) and Alejandro Vigil (renowned winemaker and technical director of Catena Zapata) founded Bodega Aleanna.
Though officially named Aleanna, the winery quickly became better known by the name of its flagship wines: El Enemigo. From its inception, the project has been about challenging norms and creating wines that speak of place, character, and depth—an endeavor that has earned it global recognition.
